INCLUDES TWENTY-TWO TRACKS! NEARLY SIXTY-TWO MINUTES PLAYING TIME!
This 2015 compilation features twenty-two German military marches performed by Germany’s leading military- and civilian bands (under the direction of some of the era's foremost conductors) between 1932 and 1943.
Included are many musical rarities of the period, as well a host of traditional selections not usually found in "Third Reich" compilations.
Performers include the Band of the Regiment ‘General Göring,’ the Music Corps of the German Commandant of Paris, the Band of the Berlin Guard Battalion of the Luftwaffe, the Music Corps of the Infantry Training Regiment at Döberitz, and many more.
Exhaustively remastered with fine sound quality, the CD is accompanied by one of our trademark illustrated insert booklets with 24 pages of notes on the featured selections.
Instrumental performances only.

This is a superb recording. It has more of the standard German marches than some of the earlier Brandenburg CDs that focused on The Kaiser's Army and Navy. The only other recording that compares is the Grosdeutshland Division and the German Cavalry marches also from the 1930s and 40s. But these were more specific to their units in choice of music. This CD brings to life the famous German marches we all know and love. Of course the fact that these are from the Nazi era does make for controversy, but they are historic audio documents none the less. German bands don't really sound like this anymore. The linear notes are superb, and all in English. What is surprising is that there is no German translation as one would think German fans of their music would be interested in these as well. Again, there are several pics with Hitler in the notes, and these must be viewed subjectively. I hope Brandenburg continues to release historical recordings. I have learned more about the history of German martial music from them than from anywhere else. They are superb historical documents and make for fine listening. Do carry on! - PS I shall likely review this CD for my military Music Appreciation Society Page on Facebook. With over 4K members many will doubtless be interested in these recordings.

The recording is amazing. It sounds like it was done this year, not so many years ago!

Excellent choice of pieces - excellent reproduction. The fact that we even have an old K und K march and an interesting performance of the "Prinz Eugen Marsch" in the selection makes this a marvelous addition to my march CD collection.

In all very good, but there is a mistake in the booklet. (Title no 3.)Heeresmusikinspizient Hermann Schmidt did not compose "Der Schützgeist". Hofkomponist Hermann Schmidt (1810-45) did.

Music that motivated the Landser of the great German Army.

Yet again, another excellent CD from Brandenburg Historica. I remember many of these tracks being available on cassette some thirty years ago though at that to e they were poor quality, pirated tracks. Now we have a chance to listen to these pieces without the sound distortion and lack of clarity .
The detailed information booklet detailing the performers ( Carl Woitschach, Mueller-John are amongst the conductors) makes this CD an essential part of any military music collection. I was pleased to see that one of my favourites, the Danziger Prasentiermarsch, is included in the CD, a wonderfully rousing powerful rendition by the Carl Woitschach Orchestra! Many other CDs only include brief and often erroneous track information on the rear of the CD case but hats off to Brandenburg Historica for their research on the music and performers.
