INCLUDES NINETEEN TRACKS! OVER SEVENTY-TWO MINUTES PLAYING TIME!
This 2015 compilation features over one hour and ten minutes of Third Reich-era German soldiers' songs, performed by Germany’s leading military- and civilian bands and choruses between 1933 and 1941.
Included are textbook choral performances of many musical rarities of the period, including 'Landsknechtslieder,' Friderician soldiers' songs, songs specially composed for the Wehrmacht, famous compositions by Herms Niel, and many others - including stirring VOCAL selections that are usually heard only in INSTRUMENTAL form.
Performers include the Kradschützen-Singschar und Musikkorps der Aufklärungs-Abteilung 3 at Berlin-Stahnsdorf, the Band and Chorus of the Leibstandarte, the Band and Chorus of the Berlin Guard Battalion of the Luftwaffe, the Music Corps of the Infantry Training Regiment at Döberitz, and many more.
Exhaustively remastered with outstanding sound quality, the CD is accompanied by one of our trademark illustrated insert booklets with 24 pages of notes on the featured selections.

The quality of the marches and choral is wonderful. It seems as if this is a recent recording rather than one that has been remastered. Remove the misguided politics from this and you will find the enthusiasm and see the patriotism and human feeling of young men marching toward battle. Thank you for preserving history.

The techniques used to bring this recording back to life are state of the art! Sounds like the band's recorded this yesterday!

One of my first purchases from your company and after several plays, I expect to make many more.
These vintage recordings sound crisp and clear and pack quite a wallop. The accompanying booklet is full of fascinating background information and lots of rare photos.
I love what you're doing. Please continue to release more of this music.

There have been a number of CDs released in the past that contain Third Reich period marches but not many that have concentrated on the 'marschlieder',the songs sung by the Wehrmacht during the 1930s and the war years. This CD represents a variety of composers and performers.
Stunningly re-mastered and painstakingly researched, this presentation eclipses all others in quality of sound and wealth of information. Each of the nineteen tracks is a gem and Brandenburg Historica have, yet again, not... [disappointed].
A marvellous CD!
