WW2 German Reich Ministry for Occupied Eastern Territories, (RMBO) Mid-ranking Officer 'M-43' Service Cap, Baschlikmütze. Similar in style to the Einheitsmütze worn by the German Army, this cap is of it's own unique button-less fold down flap design. Worn by officials of German-occupied Poland and other eastern territories and features silver bullion crown piping indicating a mid-ranking official. Made of a distinctive, mustard brown wool with aluminum basket-weave piping and a khaki cotton lining (which is size marked). The highly stylized silver SA-Wehrmannschaft eagle in BeVo is well documented on these caps (simplified, without fur) as introduced in the later period of the war, when the smaller SA style eagle (always on brown) was substituted for the larger and more visible RMBO eagle. The cap has an integral stiffener in the front, as well as an internal reinforcement around the inside base of the cap. A very rare, period cap used by an obscure organization. Exc.
