An unusual album featuring TWENTY-TWO parade marches and concert band pieces performed by the Jugendmusikkorps Bad Kissingen, whose trademark uniform is that of the Franconian regiments that fought in the Wars of Liberation (1813-15).
Founded in 1958 by the city fathers of Bad Kissingen, the Jugendmusikkorps (whose members range in age from eight to eighteen) has mastered a wide-ranging repertoire that includes Prussian marches, Bavarian- and Bohemian folk dances, international military band classics and more.
Displaying a professionalism that would do any active-duty German military band proud, these young musicians produce a "big" sound as they perform with gusto and precision under the direction of Bad Kissingen's Stadtmusikmeister, Hans Wolgast.
