INCLUDES TWENTY-TWO TRACKS! NEARLY SIXTY-TWO MINUTES PLAYING TIME!
This 2015 compilation features twenty-two German military marches performed by Germany’s leading military- and civilian bands (under the direction of some of the era's foremost conductors) between 1932 and 1943.
Included are many musical rarities of the period, as well a host of traditional selections not usually found in "Third Reich" compilations.
Performers include the Band of the Regiment ‘General Göring,’ the Music Corps of the German Commandant of Paris, the Band of the Berlin Guard Battalion of the Luftwaffe, the Music Corps of the Infantry Training Regiment at Döberitz, and many more.
Exhaustively remastered with fine sound quality, the CD is accompanied by one of our trademark illustrated insert booklets with 24 pages of notes on the featured selections.
Instrumental performances only.

The recording is amazing. It sounds like it was done this year, not so many years ago!

Excellent choice of pieces - excellent reproduction. The fact that we even have an old K und K march and an interesting performance of the "Prinz Eugen Marsch" in the selection makes this a marvelous addition to my march CD collection.

In all very good, but there is a mistake in the booklet. (Title no 3.)Heeresmusikinspizient Hermann Schmidt did not compose "Der Schützgeist". Hofkomponist Hermann Schmidt (1810-45) did.

Yet again, another excellent CD from Brandenburg Historica. I remember many of these tracks being available on cassette some thirty years ago though at that to e they were poor quality, pirated tracks. Now we have a chance to listen to these pieces without the sound distortion and lack of clarity .
The detailed information booklet detailing the performers ( Carl Woitschach, Mueller-John are amongst the conductors) makes this CD an essential part of any military music collection. I was pleased to see that one of my favourites, the Danziger Prasentiermarsch, is included in the CD, a wonderfully rousing powerful rendition by the Carl Woitschach Orchestra! Many other CDs only include brief and often erroneous track information on the rear of the CD case but hats off to Brandenburg Historica for their research on the music and performers.
