The Musikverein Frenkhausen, which is dedicated to the study and preservation of Germany's heritage of "Blasmusik," boasts a brass band that has enjoyed great acclaim since it was founded in 1919. In this twenty-one-track compilation that features a host of never-before-recorded march rarities, listeners are treated to important yet unknown pieces by some of Germany's greatest march composers. Among the marches presented here are not a few compositions (such as Georg Fürst's "Ritter von Leeb Marsch" and Lorenz Rohde's "Kreta Marsch") that are strictly off-limits to today's German armed forces bands, solely for reasons of political correctness.
