The Gebirgsmusikkorps Garmisch of the Bundeswehr, conducted by Lieutenant Colonel Christoph Scheibling, presents nineteen rarely heard selections from the last two centuries of Bavarian military history, in an album released to honor the two hundredth anniversary of Bavaria's proclamation as an independent kingdom. This is definitely NOT just another Bavarian march collection that presents (for the umpteenth time!) such standard fare as the Bayerische Defiliermarsch or the Mussinan Marsch; rather, it is a treasure trove of newly discovered- and never before recorded historic pieces. Of particular interest are several unknown gems by such composers as Georg Fürst, Carl Carl and Julius Schreck, as well as many others who are completely forgotten today. Complete contents include: Alte Bayerische Volkshymne "Vater Unser" (Unknown) / König-Max-Marsch (Seifert) / Egloffstein-Marsch (Janke) / König Ludwig II (Fürst) / Bronnzeller Marsch (Baumannn) / Heimatland (Carl) / Oberst-Graf-Dürkheim-Marsch (Högg) / Hoch Prinzregent Luitpold von Bayern! (Wohlfahrt) / Königs-Chevaulegers-Marsch (Marr) / Prinz-Arnulf-Marsch AM II, 254 (Högg) / Tritt gefasst! (Windisch) / Feldschritt-Marsch "Die Schildwache" (Streck) / Prinz-Ludwig-Ferdinand-Marsch (Unkown) / Bayern-Marsch mit dem Bayernlied "Ich bin ein Bayer" (Ebner) / Exzellenz-Krafft-von-Delmensingen-Marsch (Fürst) / Die Welt ist so schön (Jünger) / 21er Marsch (Schreck) / Die tapferen Bayern (Fürst) / Bayerisches Militärgebet (Aiblinger).
