The Staff Band of the East German Border Troops under the direction of MD Hans-Jürgen Rohland presents a selection of German, Czechoslovak, Polish and Soviet marches and concert band pieces. Complete contents include: Von Pol zu Pol / Bohater / Slawianka / Jung sind die Linden / Gipfelstürmer / Goldenes Prag / An der Mühle / Manicko ma / Hand in Hand / Gwardia Ludowa / Per Pedes / Wenn die Musi spielt / Kalrinetten Cocktail / Der Königgrätzer / Der Koburger / Erntefest Polka / Ach die Liebe [Ach boze Lasko] / Grenzwacht. Naturally, the German compositions presented date mainly from the DDR-era, but several traditional pieces are also included and these reflect the increasing degree of "rehabilitation" accorded the German past by the DDR-regime during the reign of General Secretary Erich Honecker.
